SAA-GE’s Certificate in English Proficiency (CEP) Programme is a high-quality language programme specially designed to help learners acquire English language proficiency that diploma and degree level studies require. It is designed primarily to prepare students for living and studying in Singapore where a good command of the English language is necessary.
The CEP programme includes critical language skills required for students who wish to study business and accounting programmes, including CAT/FIA, ACCA, Plymouth Degree and SAA-GE Advanced Diploma Programmes.
The CEP programme is compulsory for all international students entering the CAT/FIA, Plymouth Degree and SAA-GE Advanced Diploma Programmes and recommended for international ACCA students. Likewise, local students without GCE O’ Level English (Grade 6 or above) or equivalent will be required to attend the CEP Programme.
Students entering the programme will be assessed through our in-house placement test. The student will then be placed in the appropriate level or exempted from the appropriate level based on their English needs. CAT/FIA students are required to complete up to Intermediate level, while SAA-GE Advanced Diploma Programmes students will be required to complete the Upper Intermediate level.
The SAA-GE CEP is an intensive programme targeted at building proficiency in the core skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing – fast. The average teacher to student ratio is 1:10 to ensure personal and interactive learning environment.
Upon successful completion of the programme, students will be able to understand lectures, take part in classroom discussions, read academic texts and write essay assignments.
